Luxembourg. Back to normality – that’s what so many of us are currently hoping for. The approach of spring is luring people out into the fresh air, and increasing numbers of motivated runners are already on their favorite tracks. The longing desire for a live event is great, and so the planning for the Luxembourg Times BusinessRun on Thursday, September 16th is already in full swing. While the date has already been set, implementation depends on the official regulations that will be in force at that time and is based on the recently introduced “COVID-19 traffic light” system. The organizing team is working intensively on concept adjustments and hygiene measures to guarantee the event will be safe, whatever the format. The traffic light rating system for the implementation scenarios is intended to provide maximum clarity and facilitate early participation planning.

“We are aware that the current situation is uncertain, and that individuals and companies might not be able to imagine signing up for a running race event at the moment”, says Anton Wolf from the n plus sport GmbH. “Nevertheless, we have to plan and prepare as best as we can for the upcoming season. As soon as the situation allows, we will then be ready and put our plans into action”, Wolf adds optimistically. Regardless, the race will once again be held virtually using the viRACE app, through which participants will be able to run together and on their own.

Whether the Luxembourg Times BusinessRun can take place live (with a little more distance and a reduced framework program) remains an open question. The organizers hope that an ever-increasing rate of vaccination will see an improved situation in spring and summer. “Fortunately, the Luxembourg Times BusinessRun traditionally takes place in September, so there’s still time. With a bit of luck it could end up being the kick-off event to returning to jogging and running as normal”, says Wolf.
